Formula & How Calorie Burn & Exercise Calculator Works
Exercise energy use is estimated with the MET method: calories burned = MET × body weight (kg) × time (hours). One MET is the energy cost of resting quietly, and activities are rated as multiples of it. A 75 kg person doing an 8 MET activity such as running at a steady pace for 30 minutes burns about 8 × 75 × 0.5 = 300 kcal. Intensity, fitness and terrain change the real figure, and MET values are averages for groups of people, so treat the answer as an estimate. Heavier people burn more for the same activity. Use it to compare activities or to plan how exercise fits into your daily energy budget.
- Enter Body Weight (kg): Input your target parameter value.
- Enter Workout Duration (Minutes): Input your target parameter value.
- Enter Exercise Activity & Intensity: Input your target parameter value.
- Apply Formula: Calculate using
Calories = Duration (hours) × MET × Body Weight (kg). - Review Results: View exact computed answers, metrics, and worked mathematical proofs.
